Joseph Renard Dismond - Principal
Joseph Renard Dismond is now in his 2nd year as the Principal of Lake Erie International High School. “Mr. Joe”, as his Lake Erie scholars know him as, is proud of the gradual increase in student attendance, marked increase in the graduation rate for May 2024, and implementing and sustaining partnerships with local organizations that serve Lake Erie scholars – these include but are not limited to: After School All Stars, Cleveland Hunger Alliance, and guest speakers from Tri-C Community College.
Principal Dismond continues to build the school culture on a Social Emotional Learning model, which focuses highly on the relationships teachers and school administrators create with students, and providing students the opportunity to meet with the school’s SEL coordinator to discuss making better choices and learning how to navigate life’s obstacles. Principal Dismond has an “open door” policy for students and staff – when he is available, students are always welcome to “shoot the breeze” or discuss any matters pertaining to their academic and social growth.
In his spare time, Principal Dismond enjoys spending time with his family and cooking. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Brandi Stevens - Assistant Principal
Brandi Stevens a graduate of Cleveland State University has been working with youth for the past 20 years. Before joining Lake Erie as the Assistant Principal this year, she was a Dean of Students at a 9-12 charter school. Her main focus at Lake Erie is establishing a new culture with students, while holding them to high behavioral expectations that can translate to academic performance increases. In her spare time, she likes to travel, spend time with her children and cooking.
