  • Scott Asche - Family Advocate

    Mr. Asche is a graduate of Cleveland State University and has been committed to working with promising young adults and school-aged youth for almost twenty-seven years. Mr. Asche has served in several roles including a family advocate, attendance liaison, social worker, assistant administrator, and high school baseball coach. Presently as the family advocate, Mr. Asche's primary focus is ensuring that our student's social and emotional barriers are identified and then link to appropriate community resources. Other lesser-known tasks include coordinating teen prevention groups and tracking student attendance. In his spare time, Mr. Asche enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching sports.

  • Em Bee - Social Studies/Educational Aide

    Em Bee is the Social Studies Educational Aide. Ms. Bee graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a BA in Creative Writing and began their educational career as a district substitute for the Elyria City School District. This is Ms. Bee's first year with Lake Erie, and they are eager to contribute to a supportive and uplifting community. Ms. Bee is also Education Coordinator and a teaching artist with Radio on the Lake Theatre, a local nonprofit focusing on bringing theatre to underrepresented communities.

  • Karima Boukenken - Math Teacher

    I am Mrs. Karima Boukenken and I am a math teacher at Lake Erie International High School. I have four years of college teaching experience and four years of High school teaching experience in mathematics. I have a master’s degree in Pure Mathematics from Queens College, the City University of New York. I have a master’s degree in Physics, Energetic and Fluid Mechanics. I have a huge passion for teaching mathematics and I have in-depth knowledge in my subject mathematics . I encourage students to learn and achieve academic success. I am passionate about engaging students on all levels and helping all my students reach their potential both mathematically and as individuals.

  • Joseph Renard Dismond - Principal

    Joseph Renard Dismond is in his 1st year as the Principal of Lake Erie International HS. Before this role, he served as the Education Strategy Manager for The Community Builders, located in the Cleveland, OH office. Mr. Dismond has taught at Glenville HS, Shaw HS, both located in Cleveland, OH. He is currently completing his Doctor of Education from Kent. St. University. His dissertation will be defended this Fall and is titled: How Students of Color Frame the Importance of Social Emotional Learning in One Urban Afterschool Program. Mr. Dismond is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

  • Iris Edmonds - Career Technology Education Coordinator

    Hello my name is Iris Edmonds and I am the Career Tech Coordinator for Lake Erie International High School. My experience spans over 12 + years working with youth and adults helping them navigate Pathways, Careers choices, community/ college exposure and employment opportunities throughout Cuyahoga County in school districts and agencies. My specialty is also inclusive to teaching Job Readiness skills, resumes, and mock interviews for work based learning experiences. I am excited to move our students forward successfully and to join a team of educators with such caring efforts.

  • William Hammer - Science Teacher

    Mr. Hammer is the Science Teacher at Lake Erie International High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, including a minor in mathematics, from Xavier University in 1992. Mr. Hammer also has an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a Master's Degree in Education. Mr. Hammer has been teaching at Lake Erie since May of 2005. Before his teaching career, Mr. Hammer was a salesman and part-owner of a state-wide wine importer and distributor.

  • Jenni Howell - Virtual Intervention Specialist

    I’ve been teaching for 17 years. Graduated from Wilmington College, Ohio in 2006! My biggest accomplishment is my daughter who is graduating in May with her BA Degree in Education and my 3 sons ages 13,11 and 7! My passion: allowing my students to BE THEMSELVES and showing them that they WILL be successful when they put in the hard work and accept their mistakes as greater learning opportunities!

  • Max Laskar - ELA Teacher

    Max Laskar is a certified English teacher with a Bachelor's in English Culture, Language and History from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, France. Mx. Laskar obtained their teaching license from Baldwin Wallace University and in their downtime, they read, volunteer at a local rock-climbing gym and work on the annual dance concert at Baldwin Wallace. This is Mx. Laskar's first year teaching and they are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all the learners coming to Lake Erie International High School.

  • Susan Saccardi - Secretary

    Ms. Saccardi is the Secretary at Lake Erie International High School. Ms. Saccardi started working for L.E.I.H.S. in November of 2021. She studied Psychology at Kent State University from 1981- 1984 and at Cuyahoga Community College from 1987-1990. She started working in Office Support in 1984 and she is still working in that capacity. Ms. Saccardi has worked in many industries for 38 years, from real estate development and brokerage/financial services to hospice and education. Her love for education came when she worked at a community elementary school where she had the opportunity to learn about children learning. Ms. Saccardi now exclusively wants to work with children & their families in an educational setting.

  • Brandi Stevens - Assistant Principal

    Brandi Stevens a graduate of Cleveland State University has been working with youth for the past 20 years. Before joining Lake Erie as the Assistant Principal this year, she was a Dean of Students at a 9-12 charter school. Her main focus at Lake Erie is establishing a new culture with students, while holding them to high behavioral expectations that can translate to academic performance increases. In her spare time, she likes to travel, spend time with my children and cooking.
